Denied actions against competition
The Citizens Commission on Selection of the two new members of the National Electoral Council (CNE) has the capacity to initiate the analysis stage of merits of the contestants, after closing the challenges stage.
Last Friday, the Council of Citizen Participation (CPC) reported that challenges to seven of the applicants were rejected because they lacked foundation and the complainants failed to support clearly and accurately alleged failure to comply with the requirements or lack of integrity of applicants.
Of this step remains unknown the result of the protection actions filed by René Maugé, current CNE coordinator of Political Organizations; Franklin Toalombo, an official of the Superintendency of Banks; and Esthela Morante, who was in the Sucumbios Provincial Electoral Board.
They asserted that the Commission did not properly reviewed their documents and refused to admit their involvement.
