Dentists in Ecuador are prepared for entry into force of COIP
The Ecuadorian Dental Federation (FOF for its Spanish acronym) released its actions and strategies against the entry into force of the new Criminal Integral Organic Code (COIP), on next August 10, in particular for Article 146 which punishes the professional malpractice.
The FOF President Gorki Espinoza reported that since last year they are preparing an intensive program of training and awareness of professional responsibility and COIP application. At the same time, proposals of professionals assurance, in both the public and private sectors, are beinganalyzed.
Further aspects are observed, as the indemnities, so that appropriate parameters be set to compensate a possible victim for professional mistakes or negligence that are the only grounds for a possible lawsuit.
Espinoza reminded the citizens they should be clear that any professional seeks to intentionally cause harm. He confirmed that it exists an unanimous decision of the federal dentists in the country, through the Executive National Council and Committee of the organization, to seek alternatives and mechanisms to optimize the professional practice.
