Digital service facilitates municipal procedures to the users
The municipality of Guayaquil, received nearly 300 applications for the procedure known as land use consultation, however only about half were able to be answered, according to Xavier Salvador, Director of the Department of Informatics of the Municipality.
Salvador points out that due to the high demand, this was one of the first procedures included in the online service that currently it is being offered through the website www.guayaquil.gob.ec, that is part of the Guayaquil Digital project, which will involve all municipal directorates with statistics of each of its departments.
The first to be uploaded to the web were procedures which are required frequently, as questions of taxes, affectation or division of land, placement of residential areas, processing of the elder law and people can also obtain certificates of urban property, of not having debts with the municipality, to have or not a registered land own a land.
In the first week the consultation web service exceeded the 8 000 visits, a figure that it was ‘impossible to solve’ according to Salvador with the previous system.
However, to gain access to the service, user must obtain a password, through a simple process. In the section of the online service there is an option for the citizen registration, and this form must be filled with the personal information of the user and must then be delivered to the Civil Registry Corporation, which is located in the Av. Juan Tanca Marengo, North of Guayaquil, where the identity of the applicant is verified, and then they will proceed to give the password.
Next month is expected that other 10 procedures will be enabled in the web. Also in terms of permits for construction, the municipal network offers for who cannot obtain their requirements in this way a ‘procedure virtual guide ‘, which tells the user how and where to do them and allows them to download forms to be submitted.
