Djokovic opens the Dubai tournament as head of the series
As of Monday 27 February, the Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will participate in the Dubai tournament after succeeding in the Australia Open where he defeated the Spanish Rafael Nadal.
The world number one had already won the first ‘big’ of the season on two previous occasions, 2008 and 2011.
The Serbian top series player in Dubai, will face Roger Federer (winner of 16 Grand Slams), second favorite in the tournament final forecasts are met.
On 17 February, Boris Tadic, President of Serbia, handed the country’s highest honor, the Order of the Star of Karadjordje. In addition, Djokovic attended the presentation of a wax statue of his figure in the Serbian town of Jagodina, and in London received the Laureus Award for Best Athlete of 2011.
