DP World’s logistics center starts operations in Duran canton
The Durán Logistics Center , located in the industrial zone of the canton, opened its doors to offer services to the entire foreign trade chain to the Intelligent Port of Deep Waters , DP World Posorja and the other ports of Guayaquil .

It is a space of 17.3 hectares with modern facilities , divided into two areas: the first for consolidation of banana cargo and dry cargo such as cocoa and coffee ; and the second, for the deposit of empty containers .
The space destined for the consolidation of bananas has 8 loading and unloading bays at the platform level. The dry cargo consolidation site for cocoa and coffee is an open roofed place with specialized equipment.
In the second area, the empty container storage area, the washing, workshop and maintenance service will be provided . To this are added other services such as stowage and palletizing ; refrigerated container area (PTI) .
It also has a transportation plaza with capacity for 40 trucks and administrative offices . It is also working on an agreement with the National Anti-Narcotics Police , whose staff will carry out inspections at the Logistics Center.
“In addition to our Smart Deep Waters Port in Posorja , all DP World staff in Ecuador are proud to start the operations of our Logistics Center in Durán in a very strategic location for the country,” explained Nicolas Gauthier, CEO Ecuador of DP World.
He added that DP World will continue to invest in Ecuador and is now working to build a barge terminal in Durán, next to the logistics center, in order to connect Durán with Posorja in a sustainable way, moving containers across the river.
The first cargoes for consolidation that entered the logistics center were bananas and belong to the companies Asisbane / DVS Frutas SA, Fyffes Ecuador / AGBE SA, and Sentilver SA
Due to its geographical position, the Durán Logistics Center has connectivity with the main highways of Guayas, Los Ríos, Manabí, El Oro and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
