Ecuador and Colombia dismantled drug laboratory of the Oliver Sinisterra group
A drug laboratory, located on the northern border, was destroyed this Saturday, October 3. This was reported by Patricio Carrillo, General Commander of the Police , through his Twitter account.
The international operation called “Limit”, which was carried out simultaneously, by air and land, managed to dismantle this point of drug production.
The objective was to disable a gigantic cocaine processing laboratory that would belong to the “Oliver Sinisterra” group , a dissident from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), located on the border in the province of Carchi.
According to preliminary investigations, the laboratory, located in the Tobar Donoso parish, was so equipped that it had the capacity to produce up to three tons of cocaine hydrochloride in a month.
In the processing laboratory, four structures were found divided into the following environments: an area for a dining room and kitchen, an area for a room or rest, an area for processing cocaine, and an area for drying and pressing cocaine.
Among the evidences were 2,000 liters of liquid cocaine solution, about 200 grams of cocaine base, 3,050 liters of acetone , 310 liters of gasoline, 16 liters of methyl, 16 of alcohol, 40 of sulfuric acid, 16 of hydrochloric acid, 50 kilograms of sodium hydroxide, 50 kilograms of sodium bicarbonate, 25 kilograms of carbonate, 28 kilograms of permanganate and 25 kilograms of sodium metabisulfite.
Industrial processing
To industrially process so much cocaine, they had 40 microwave ovens, three gram scales, a chainsaw, an industrial water pump, four rolls of kitchen paper, four 1000-meter rolls of copper wire, a compressor, a pot of pressure, 300 rolls of packing tape, four bundles of blotting paper, two light generators, a distiller or Martian apparatus.
In addition, 100 jute sacks, two industrial kitchens, four 2000-liter plastic tanks, six 500-liter plastic tanks, 20 20-liter cans, a hydraulic press, 30 mats, four screens to distill, three kilometers of water pipes, three kilometers for chemical products, 100 meters of mesh and 100 meters of black plastic.
The dismantling of this production point was carried out thanks to an operation between the Armed Forces and the Police of Colombia and Ecuador.
“Great intelligence work and effective tactical coordination to combat drug trafficking,” said the Commander.
The State Attorney General’s Office , for its part, reported that the seized material (pumps, tanks, ovens, etc.) was seized as evidence of the operation.
For the diligence, there was the collaboration of the Tulcán prosecutor on duty, Carlos Rosero, and the logistical support of three helicopters (Super Puma) from the Army for the entry and extraction of personnel.
In the place, the prosecutor ordered that samples of the cocaine solution, precursors and other indications that were found be taken, since, due to security measures, the extraction by air cannot be carried out and due to the amount found it was not counted with sufficient logistical means for its transfer.
While the area can be cleared and all the evidence collected, the prosecutor ordered the Disability of the illegal drug processing center.
The particularity of the narco-criminal organization was to guarantee the safety of the people who worked for it and to take all precautions for the production and refinement of drugs thanks to the topography of the place where, in addition, the temporary collection and transport to the markets of international consumption.
