Ecuador and Venezuela strengthened energy, trade and investment cooperation
The president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, and the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro met yesterday in Caracas to strengthen bilateral relations and analyze everything related to energy, trade and investment cooperation.
“We have an agenda that was made in a first step with our commander Hugo Chavez and that we come to ratify, consolidate and expand,” said Maduro, along with Correa, whom he described as “the leader of the XXI century”, in the presidential palace of Miraflores.
The meeting affirmed the importance of exchanging Ecuadorian oil with Venezuelan fuel, which was reaffirmed in May 2012, when both countries signed four agreements on oil, which included product supply contract between PDVSA and Petroecuador.
Before the bilateral meeting, the leaders visited the headquarters of the Mountain, west of Caracas, to pay homage to the remains of Chavez.

Nicolas Maduro and Rafael Correa visited Chavez’ resting place.
