During March Ecuador and Peru plan to make a joint publication of the phyto and zoosanitary requirements focused on the entry of live bovines from Ecuador to Peru, and in the same way to establish work plans for the entry of the Ecuadorian pitahaya.
This was reported by the Agency for the Regulation and Control of Plant and Animal Health (Agrocalidad), noting that on March 9, a virtual meeting was held with its Peruvian counterpart, the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) , where they discussed these issues.
Agrocalidad indicated that these issues were pending and were part of the commitments agreed in the Plan of Action of the Ecuador-Peru Presidential Meeting and XIII Binational Cabinet , held in Tumbes, on November 7, 2019 , to boost trade between the two countries.
Additionally, Agrocalidad informed that it will also send comments on the Ecuadorian pineapple export proposal to Peru. (I)
