Ecuador gave information to Mexico to capture ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán

Ecuadorian police gave intelligence information that “contributed to the arrest of the head of the Mexican mafia, the Sinaloa cartel, ‘El Chapo’ Guzman” last February 22 , stated the Minister of Domestic Affairs, José Serrano, in a press release at the Port of Guayaquil, located at the southwest of the city.
Last Monday, on the occasion of an official visit to Quito from the mexican President, Enrique Peña Nieto, Mexico and Ecuador announced they will intensify their cooperation to confront the drug cartels, which use Ecuadorian territory as a route for drug trafficking.
