The British Government announced this Thursday that it will remove from its red list of risky travel destinations due to the coronavirus to the seven countries that it still had in that category: Colombia, Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Venezuela and Ecuador.
The Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador explained that the new classification will allow to boost the reactivation of the tourism sector.
According to President Guillermo Lasso ” British travelers will be able to visit our country with more confidence,” he assured through the social network.
According to Tourism, the country is positioned as a safe destination for travelers seeking new experiences in a peaceful environment, extensive biosafety protocols, and personnel from the tourism sector vaccinated against covid-19.
The measure will take effect from November 1 and there will no longer be a list of nations or destinations for risky travel due to coronavirus, although it still governs a series of vaccination measures and PCR tests.
