Ecuador promotes trade through virtual certificates
The Ministry of Foreign Trade reported last week that the country issued the first Certificate of Digital Origin (COD by its Spanish acronym), which will help optimize and integrate business processes between Ecuador and Colombia.
The procedure is done in the Ecuapass customs website (www.ecuapass.aduana.gob.ec), through the single Ecuadorian window system for Foreign Trade (VUE).
With this system, time will be saved and international shipping costs of the certificates between exporters and importers will be eliminated.
According to information from the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), last year sales of $ 906 million were achieved. However, the balance is not favorable for Ecuadorians. Last year, the nation imports totaled 2.296 million dollars, meaning a deficit of 1,390 million for this country.
With Peru the opposite happens. The value of goods sent by local entrepreneurs overcame the acquired by importers. The trade balance had a positive result of $ 767 million.
