Ecuador, still in the spotlight of Amnesty

Critics of authorities in Ecuador, including human rights activists, were “targets of attacks, fines and groundless criminal charges” last year, reported yesterday Amnesty International (AI).

In its annual report, released in London, AI notes that “the rights of indigenous peoples to free, prior and informed consent about decisions affecting their livelihoods” was not respected in 2015.
