Ecuador tied Paraguay 2-2 in the qualifying round of the Russia 2018 World Cup
The Tricolor team drew 2-2 against Paraguay in the 5th date of the South American Qualifying round for the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Ecuador’s goals were scored by Enner Valencia (minute 19), who reappeared after overcoming an injury that kept him sidelined since the Copa America in Chile-2015, and Angel Mena (90 + 1), and the Paraguayans goals were scored by Dario Lezcano in minutes 37 and 58.
The agonizing tie allows the tricolor team to stay ahead of the qualifying rounds (13 points) and maintain its unique undefeated status, while the white-red team reached 8 points to settle at the third position, behind Uruguay (9) and above Brazil, Chile and Colombia (all three with 7 points), when there are only three games left until the final date.
In the sixth round, scheduled for March 29, the Ecuadorian team will visit the Colombians in Barranquilla, and the Paraguayans will host the Brazilians in Asuncion.
