Ecuador will export mango to China by plane

In an interview with the Expreso Diary, Sergio Cedeño, president of the Mango Ecuador Foundation, shared the news that they will begin exporting to China this fruit from the next harvest and it will be, initially, by plane until there is a special system of conservation on ships.

Cedeño explained that because of the distance the export will be by plane, because ships take 35 days to reach China, “and the mango is a sensitive fruit. It’s not like bananas that arrive anywhere. In maximum 20 days, it begins to suffer: softness, drawbacks “

The cost of air freight is four dollars a kilo “export boxes are small, and carry up to four kilos and carry, depending on size, eight mangos, -when they are large- to 14, when they are small.”
