Ecuadorian government acquires helicopters from French company Airbus
The defense minister, Fernando Cordero reported on Friday that Ecuador bought nine helicopters to the French company Airbus, of which eight are already operating.
In statements to Radio Sonorama, said that helicopters are for army aviation, which were acquired as part of “routines teams which are replenished”. However, he declined to specify the amount paid for this acquisition.
He added that they are “smaller helicopters, used for medical transport, evacuations, are helicopters for three people”.
Four of seven Indian Dhruv helicopters have rushed ashore in the past five years, while the remaining three will not go into action until clarify the causes of accidents, the authorities agreed.
About the accident in which was involved one of the Dhruv helicopter occurred in Tena, the minister said that logistical support to Brazil and France will be asked.
One goal of the research, he said, is that there is impartiality of both the manufacturers and the board investigating therefore has requested the cooperation of these countries.
