Ecuadorian Navy seizes shipment of goods in San Lorenzo

On Saturday, the Coast Guards subcommand of the Ecuadorian Navy seized 2 small TV´s, 24 bottles of brandy, 15 bottles of rum and 19 bottles of whiskey in a boat of the Cooperative 8 de Noviembre, when it was sailing in the Bolivar Canal sector, in the San Lorenzo county.
On board the ‘Rio Cayapas’ LG boat, the seizure was made during a routine patrol. The origin of the cargo, valued at $ 3,000, could not be justified by its owner, an Ecuadorian citizen.
According to the report of the Coast Guards subcommand, the goods would presumably enter the country illegally, because it was being transported by a route not enabled, thus avoiding customs control and the respective taxes.
