‘Ideas para México’ is a digital contest organized by the Corona company to find solutions in the midst of the global crisis caused by covid-19. The Ecuadorian venture was nominated among 1,300 applicants and obtained one of the four quotas for the final.
“We were very excited , we are very happy with this platform and projecting it internationally,” Dueñas revealed to Medios Digitales . In early May he presented his proposal in a hackathon in Mexico and won it. On the 26th of this month the results of the innovators contest will be known.
Todos Más Cerca was born out of an idea between Dueñas, 39, and his partner Ricardo Mancero. Through self-management they managed to promote a digital project to provide a citizen service . Its website connects merchants and consumers in Quito.
“We think about that, giving a solution that is close,” explained its founder. At the beginning they had 1,500 registered businesses, while almost 60 days after the start of the quarantine they reach 3,000 registered establishments .
They are currently a team of eight people and plan to open geolocation in Guayaquil and other cities in the country. If they win the Mexican contest they would have the means to expand internationally.
A group of judges will evaluate the four finalist ventures, among which are also a device to sterilize viruses and bacteria from an area of 20 square meters, a proposal for family gardens and a barley drink to generate essential nutrients in the body. (I)
