Edwin Alvarado is the new President of Citizenship Commission

With 9 votes in favor, Edwin Enrique Alvarado Encalada was designated President of the Selection Citizen Commission, which will perform the first partial renewal of the members of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym).

The 10 commissioners sessioned yesterday August 13 for the first time in Quito, one day after his inauguration. Doris Lucia Gallardo Cevallos, delegate of the judiciary, was elected Vice President of the commission.

According to Alvarado, the next step of the Commission is to define the calendar stages of the competition. The first phase is the call for applicants.
