Posted On 23 Aug 2011
The hearing for El Universo case was scheduled for August 25, however it was recently notified that the hearing was moved to August 30 at 09:00am. President Rafael Correa defensive attorney, Alembert Vera requested the new date because the Ecuadorian leader is on vacations on Belgium.
Yesterday Fernando Yavar, the vocal of the Judicial Council of Transition (CJT for its Spanish acronym) informed that if the new judge of the Criminal Court, Stevie Gamboa, does not has seven years of work in his profession he will be removed from the board.
Gamboa graduated in 2004, but was registered in the Provincial Court of Guayas on December 15 of 2005. This means that he has less than six years working professionally. (AV)
