Eléctrica de Guayaquil is Already a State Company

After signing the executive order, Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa confirmed the official handover of the electric company of Guayaquil to the state.

The announcement of the abolition of the electrical unit of Guayaquil (Udeleg) was read by Alexis Mera, legal secretary of the presidency. The decision was taken after it was determined that the state has a surplus of over $ 388 million with the company. (BG)
