Entrepreneurs in accordance with temporary suspension of Resolution 1695
After the temporary suspension of Resolution 1695 by the General Secretariat of the Andean Community last June 24, Ecuadorian entrepreneurs see as good the deadline of 15 working days the Andean Community (CAN for its Spanish acronym) gave to the country to stop controlling imports.
Entrepreneurs believe that during this period there is the possibility of finding solutions to administrative constraints which has generated Resolution 116 of the Committee of Foreign Trade (Comex).
For Daniel Legarda, Vice President of the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters (Fedexpor), the decision of the CAN will enable the Government to review the issue of the administrative formalities required for imports.
Meanwhile, Roberto Aspiazu, Executive Director of the Ecuadorean Business Committee (EEC), indicated that although significant progress was achieved on the changes made this year to Resolution 116, the customs office continues imposing obstacles for several imports.
