Epidemiological Alert in Ecuador

This Tuesday, the health ministry declared an epidemiological alert in Ecuador—as a caution measure— due to the cholera outbreak that has caused 284 deaths in Haiti.
“Among the immediate measures to prevent the disease in our country, the national health authority has enabled epidemiological alert in the seaports and international airports,” said the ministry in a statement.
In addition, “health units have been warned about the situation so that it remains adequate and monitored,” he added.
At the same time, it alerted civilians use preventive measures, such as, frequent hand washing and consumption of safe water and food.”
Haitian health authorities reported on Tuesday 25 new deaths by cholera. This means 284 have passed away in the country.
