Ecuador culminated epidemiological week 39 with a considerable decrease in the registration of people infected by covid-19. In these last 7 days, only 406 positive cases of coronavirus increased.

Epidemiological week ended with a considerable decrease in infections
According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, issued this Sunday, September 27, 2020, 134,747 infected people have been registered in the country, through samples taken in PCR tests.
In the first week of September (36 on the epidemiological scale), the accumulated number of infections was 5,582. Since then the statistic has decreased to 4,146, 2,099 and 406, in the three subsequent weeks. From 38 to 39 they decreased by 1,693 positive cases.
Pichincha is the province with the most infected in recent days, with a total of 204, equivalent to 50% on the national scale. In Guayas and Manabí, 10 new people with the virus were registered.
Since the pandemic reached Ecuador, 418,785 PCR tests have been taken. The provinces that show the highest positive results are Azuay (55.7%), Pastaza (48.8%), Cañar (47.6%) and Napo (47.3%).
In terms of deaths, the country ends the week with 11,279 accumulated fatal losses. Of this item, 7,476 deaths were confirmed due to the coronavirus. Guayas and Pichincha lead this statistic, with 1,713 and 1,417, respectively.
The positive aspects, in addition to the decrease in the weekly epidemiological curve, is that a total of 215,751 PCR tests were negative, which rules out contagion. The number of recovered patients is also on the rise, with 112,296. (I)
