Esperanza Galvan’s husband threatens a newspaper after publishing that she receives her salary from jail

Posted On 27 Jun 2016
The husbad Assemblywoman Esperanza Galvan, who is imprisoned for alleged bribery, would have threatened a Mexican newspaper for reporting that she continues receiving her $ 5,009 salary from prison.
This was announced by Luis Eduardo Vivanco, the general editor of daily La Hora, through his Twitter account: “We received a call from Esperanza Galvan’s husband, who threatened us of going to the @SuperComEc if we keep saying that she is still receiving her salary even though she is in jail.”
There is no information on the figure by which he would seek to initiate proceedings against La Hora. This newspaper, like a large part of the national press, has reported that the legislator of Alianza Pais continues receiving her salary, because there is not a final judgment and, consequently, she has not lost her charge as legislator.
