The trade agreement with the European Union (EU) not only refers to the trading of goods but also services that currently have trade restrictions. About 65% of the Ecuadorian economy corresponds to the services sector. In the case of the European economy this figure rises to 70%.
In 2015, the total sale of Ecuadorean services abroad reached $ 2,351 million, equivalent to just 11% of total exports of goods and services. The main services sold were: personal trips (49% of total services), business trips (17% of the total), shipping (15% of the total), financial services (4% of the total) and communications services (4% of the total).
