Executive objects 10 items on the Water Law

correaThe Executive objected 10 items _ of the Water Law, adopted by the official majority party in the National Assembly, according to Legislative information.

The President, Rafael Correa, in the statement of reasons poses modification of Articles 7, 18, 23, 97, 105, 107, 108, 143, 144 and 149 of the regulations.

Article 7, for example, refers to the activities of strategic water sector. While Article 18 sets out the competences of the One Water Authority.

 Correa contends that the provision of public water service is exclusively public or community, but exceptionally may participate private initiative or popular and solidarity economy in case of emergency declaration.
