Fidel Araujo: ‘If he says I forgive you, he´s saying i´m innocent’

After five years of legal proceedings against him, arrests and after being granted pardon, retired Army Major Fidel Araujo believes they “realized” he did not incite a rebellion on September 30, 2010.
Araujo said that the pardon was not asked by him but was a presidential decree. “My question was, I have not requested a pardon. She said: “The president has issued a decree granting pardon,” “I can not have you arrested here another second,” “you are disinformed about the modification of this regulation on 28 December 2015, which allows the President to grant pardons through an oficial communiqué.”
He believes there are no political hues in this process, the same he has faced as a citizen.
