Field testing on electronic money initiates

Today starts the field test of electronic money, as stated the Manager of the Central Bank, Mateo Villalba.

Efraín Vieira, executive of the Pacific Bank,saidthat everything is ready for the test, which will be performed in two agencies in Quito and Guayaquil.

Those chosen for the pilot could go to the bank and load money with their physical money. Then, with the money they can make purchases. “The whole cycle will be done,” said Villalba. Julio Ocaña, Difare manager, explained that the testing will be performed in agencies of Cruz Azul pharmacies from Quito, Guayaquil and Portoviejo.
