Financing credit with China is not signed yet but the works continue
The preliminary works for the construction of the Pacific Refinery, which would come into operation from 2017, continues despite the credit is still under negotiation with China. The Ministry indicated it would have other options for financing an agreement if the one with China is not achieved.
“The refinery has been advancing all the necessary and preliminary works, the engineering, which are required so this not constitute a delay or affect the critical path of the project”, said Minister of Strategic Sectors Rafael Poveda.
Poveda had indicated that Ecuador enlisted two loans with a Chinese bank for about $ 9,000 million and estimated it to be signed this month.
The Minister said that Ecuador is in the final stages of negotiation. but “if by some extraordinary circumstance, that so far does not exist, this is not achieved, we have an option for this project”.
