Fishermen requested Rafael Correa the reactivation of their sector
A call of attention to the mayor of Jama and requests from fishermen of El Matal yesterday marked the visit of President Rafael Correa to these Manabi sectors, which were affected by the earthquake of April 16.
The president came to Jama before 10:00 am in an army helicopter. Upon his arrival he said he was going to verify the current situation of the county, to make feasible the aid through the various ministries.
There, Correa urged Mayor Angel Rojas to materialize emergency projects and to reactivate the hard hit tourism sector. “Jama has to recover as it is a purely tourism sector, we can not lose this place,” he said.
Before this call, Rojas responded that on Friday, during the cabinet to be held in Pedernales, they will present emerging projects as an integral sanitary sewer, drinking water, resettlement of housing plans, the reconstruction of educational areas, health centers, among most others.
