The Board of Directors of the Platinum Awards of Ibero-American Cinema revealed the list of shortlisted in the 19 open categories for film and television .

Five Ecuadorian films will seek to make history in the Platinum Awards
The seventh edition of the Platinum Awards has received almost a thousand applications from the 23 countries of Latin America , according to a statement.
In the first stage of the process there are five Ecuadorian feature films that have been shortlisted in different categories .
Among them, ‘La mala noche’ by Gabriela Calvache has won 10 presets for Ecuador, which include the categories for Best Latin American Film, Best Direction, Best Female Performance and Best Male Performance, among others.
‘Azules Turquesas’ by Mónica Mancero , on addiction rehabilitation centers, entered into four categories . At the center of this fiction, based on a true story, is Isabela , a 28-year-old girl and the tortuous path she follows to leave her addictions .
The route becomes a viacrucis through three rehabilitation centers, in which Isabela is hospitalized and where she becomes a victim and witness of a series of ‘medical practices ‘ full of deceit , neglect and violence of all kinds.
The romantic comedy ‘Dedicated to my ex’ by director Jorge Ulloa also entered into competition with two presets for Best Film and Best Direction.
This film became the most watched national film of the decade in Ecuador. It tells the story of Ariel (Raúl Santana), 21. The young man of low profile ends with the love of a lifetime because she is going to do an internship in Finland. To retrieve it, Ariel decides to follow her.
The protagonist needs USD 2,500 and proof of everything to get the budget. Ariel and her best friend Ortega (Biasinni Segura) hear about a music band contest that will give a prize of USD 10,000 to the winners. Then they decide to register although they don’t know anything about the subject, and they call a casting to recruit artists. Both manage to form a fun band with diverse and opposite personalities.
The documentaries ‘Torero’, by Nora Salgado and ‘La muerte del maestro’, by Felipe Troya were chosen in a category each.
On February 12 the shortlist will be announced with the 20 candidates for each category and in March the finalists will be known. This year, the delivery ceremony will be held on May 3 at the Teatro Gran Tlachco , in the Riviera Maya, Mexico and will be broadcast on TNT.
