Floral offerings commemorate 205 years of the First Independence uprising

The Mayor of Quito Mauricio Rodas and other representatives of the state functions participated this Sunday August 10 in the wreath-lying ceremony at the monument to the Heroes of 1809, this, as symbol of commemoration of the 205 years of the First Independence uprising.
The Defence Minister Maria Fernanda Espinosa said that they had to pay tribute to the libertarian women. “They built the country with their ideals and dreams.”
Espinosa and other representatives of the state powers left wreaths at the monument to the heroes of the August 10, 1809. After the ceremony, dozens of people took photos with the background of the floral offerings.
The event was held at Plaza Grande, as part of the commemoration of this historic date.
