The Chancellor of Ecuador, Gabriela Sommerfeld, gave details of the signing of this employment agreement for young people.

Ecuador and Israel signed a memorandum of understanding to generate employment opportunities for young Ecuadorians. The beneficiaries (young farmers) would spend from one to five years in that country.

According to the Foreign Ministry, a hiring process will be opened for 2,000 farmers who will travel to Israel in the first phase. The program hopes to expand to 25,000 Ecuadorians.

Through this agreement, applicants will participate in circular migration programs protected by Israeli and Ecuadorian legislation, throughout the entire hiring, selection, placement, arrival, employment and return process, the Foreign Ministry statement details.

In this circular employment program they will learn about technical agriculture in areas where cultivation is complicated.

To apply for job offers, applicants must have at least one year of experience in agricultural sectors.

How to apply?

Ecuadorian farmers will apply for these circular employment positions through the employment platform of the Ministry of Labor.

There are still no defined dates for these job positions to open, however the registration and selection process of applicants will take place through the platform.

“This is a first step in a long-term relationship between Ecuador and Israel,” explained Gabriela Sommerfeld.
