From prison the owner of Terrabienes defends himself

The CEO of the Terrabienes company, Jorge Ortega Trujillo, expressed his desire to ‘honor’ the debts of the property development company and reiterated he did not commit any crime.

In a letter sent to daily El Universo from prison, where he remains from March 2015 for alleged involvement in a massive fraud, he commented on the situation of the company.

The Terrabienes company is responsible of the housing project Arcos del Rio in Guayaquil and is intervened by the Superintendency of Companies by the failure to deliver houses and return the money of 1,200 customers.

Ortega assured that the project “is viable” because the company has received “on average 20% of total sales of the project and the value of lands and works for the fulfillment of contracts substantially exceeds that value.”
