Future of Communications Law is decided today
Posted On 20 Aug 2014
On this Wednesday the Plenary of the Constitutional Court (CC) is being summoned to resolve the three claims of unconstitutionality hanging over Ecuador’s Communication Law.
The nine judges forming the CC will pronounce on the claims filed by Luis Fernando Torres (Assemblyman of Cambio-CREO-PSC), the Legal Clinic of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and the citizen group of the 60.
They challenged the validity of at least 60 articles of the law. For example, they question items that were incorporated by Assemblyman of Alianza PAIS (PA) and rapporteur of the law, Mauro Andino, which were not discussed or debated in the Assembly.
