Government of argentina seeks transparency in the finances of the ecuadorian adviser Jaime Durán Barba
Jaime Durán Barba canceled his mono tribute in the middle of last year. It was noted in the regimen of enrolled responsible, presumably, for an increase in their income. A couple of months later, on the eve of the August primaries, the PRO (political party of the President of Argentina) made official for the first time in its history a payment from Mauricio Macri’s star advisor: USD 40 000 a month from the party and another similar amount during the months that the campaign will last.
The same figure corresponded to his partner, the Ecuadorian Santiago Nieto Montoya, who was actually born in Afghanistan because of his father’s diplomatic work. Beyond the figures, laughable, the announcement was historic. Is that, for a decade, the PRO hid the lucrative income of the consultant and their environment, which according to half a dozen sources aware of the financial engineering of the Ecuadorian far exceed the alleged USD 80 000 per month that he pocketed in these months.
Now, in the midst of the advance of the Government and Justice over a group of leaders and trade unionists, and as Infobae knew, the Casa Rosada wants Durán Barba to intensify the laundering (transparentation) of his finances, although the patrimony and its Income is a mystery, largely because in recent years the financing of the advice of the communication strategist was like that of the electoral campaigns: plagued by irregularities, the impulse of the Executive Power to a new financing law or forces to order their own numbers.
There is, however, a data hitherto unknown. The department that the Ecuadorian occupies when he is in Buenos Aires, in Recoleta, in one of the most expensive areas of the City, is, according to the Real Property Registry, in the name of Trabulsi Management INC, a society created in 1999 in the British Virgin Islands one of the largest tax havens on the planet, in the Caribbean Sea of which Durán Barba and his partner were directors and even had a general power to operate in his name when he settled in Panama.
Trabulsi Management INC has no offices or activity in Argentina, but was registered in the AFIP, according to official records, in November 2015, ten days before the triumph of Macri over Daniel Scioli in the presidential ballotage. “We do not have any foreign company based in Argentina,” they replied in the Ecuadorian environment.
