Government will analyze contents of the book of former police chief González
The Government will analyze the contents of the book “Testimony of a commander” (Testimonio de un comandante, for its Spanish name) and the statements of its author and former head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Ernesto González. This was announced by the Interior Minister José Serrano, who served as Justice Minister during the police uprising of September 30, 2010.
On the other hand, on January 14, government officials rejected the stories of González, which refer to the nonexistence of a coup d’etat; to the President Rafael Correa, who was never kidnapped, only retained, and to the intelligence bodies of the state, who at that date, September 30, 2010, did not detect that the police revolt was aimed to depose the government .
For Minister Serrano, those statements, which are part of the book, constitute a “fictional novel” that along with the statements of the former officer, shall be analyzed and answered by the spokesmen of the regime.
