Next to a new election, Greece lives moments of uncertainty because the future of the European Union depends on the vote results.
During a regional congress of the Christian Democratic Union Party, German Chancellor Angela Merkel addressed the Greek citizens with a message of reflection.
“I can only warn everyone against leaving the currency union. The internal cohesion of the Eurozone would be in danger.”
This is the main debate between the two main local parties that doubt to follow or break the austerity pact agreement, made by the European Union and the former goverment, in exchange of financial aid.
Although the Left-wing Party Syriza bets on a complete agreement overhaul and the Conservative New Democracy Party asks just for modifications, they both agree in demanding a reform in the agreement negotiation, an option ruled out by chancellor Merkel.
