Guayaquil Citizens Helping Their Community With their Own Efforts
It is generally believed that social and community work are organized or financed by foundations or perhaps private and state organizations. But that is not generally true. Examples of small groups of people trying to help others, is real.
At a southern suburb of Guayaquil (42 Av. and F Street) there is a group of people, under the name “Esfuerzos Propios,” that has been working for over 10 years in several social projects such as workshops, community cleaning days, community stores, nutrition programs and so on. The coordinators of these activities were Ms. Bella Choez and Mr. Javier Cornejo, Social Guide of Crusade for a New Humanity Foundation (CNHF) .
On August 13th, Ms. Bella organized her neighborhood along with her Esfuerzos Propios’ volunteers to carry out a “Community Quaker.” For this social event, Ms. Bella asked the FCNH for donations. CNHF helped them with Quaker for more than 200 children in her locality.
The community gathered with one purpose and the entire neighborhood collected the rest of the ingredients for the preparation of the Quaker.
“Esfuerzos Propios“, a nonprofit group, seeks to support personal and spiritual growth of the residents of her neighborhood.
