Virus Kills 81 Children in Vietnam

On Friday, Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of Vietnam, warned citizens about the virus that has killed 81 children and has affected over 32,000 people in the country so far this year.
The prime minister issued a statement on the official Vietnamese government website and asked to prevent and control the spread of the Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) that has concentrated in the south side of the country, where the most severe cases have been registered (80%).
HFMD cases usually generate rash, mouth sores and blisters on hands and feet, is usually mild in children and infants, but the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Vietnam reported that the effects of the disease are more severe in one third of all reported cases.
