Guayas will have electronic voting for 2017 elections

Guayas will be one of the five provinces that will have electronic machines for the general elections scheduled for 2017. It was announced on September 18 by the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym). This voting system will be implemented with the collaboration of Venezuela and Argentina, according to a statement.
The other considered provinces are: Azuay, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Manabí and Pichincha.
The voters of Azuay, Santo Domingo and La Morita parish, of Pichincha, were part of a pilot program run on February 23.
