Guillermo Lasso insists on fraud and speaks of ‘an illegitimate government.’
Posted On 04 Apr 2017

Presidential hopeful Guillermo Lasso made a warning to the world: they will pretend to “establish an illegitimate government” in Ecuador from the 24 of May. According to the opposition candidate of the Creo-SUMA Alliance, the figures of the National Electoral Council (CNE) do not correspond to the real will of the Ecuadorian people. With 99.40% of the votes counted, until yesterday evening, Monday, April 3, 2017, Lenin Moreno had the 51.17%, and Lasso the 48.83%.
Therefore, he said, he can not accept those results that he calls “illegitimate,” and that respond to the “dictatorship of a single political party,” which controls all powers.
Lasso traveled to Quito yesterday to file a complaint of alleged fraud to the president of the Observer Mission of the Organization of American States (OAS), Leonel Fernández (former President of the Dominican Republic). But he said he received only “drawer answers.” Then a press conference was scheduled at a hotel in the north of the capital. At the table, Lasso was accompanied by his campaign manager, Fernando Coronel; The Director of Communications, Eduardo Bonilla; And three of his children. Before the national and international media, he said that there is “clear evidence” of the alleged fraud.
