Gustavo Jalkh proposed a debate of ideas with Peruvian Jurist
The President of the Council of the Judiciary (CJ) Gustavo Jalkh, invited Luis Pásara to an academic debate.Pásara is a Peruvian Jurist and author of the report ‘Judicial independence in the reform of the Ecuadorian courts’, in which he questions the independence of the Ecuadorian Judicial function.
In a letter, Jalkh questions the financing that had the study, which would come from the Foundation for Due Process (DLPF based in Washington, United States). Among the Ecuadorian collaborators of the report would be César Montúfar and Andrés Páez. They have spoken out against the selection of new judges.
In this regard agrees the President of the Provincial Court of Justice of Guayas Julio Aguayo, who considers that the purpose of such reports is “to attack the state itself”, to affect the country’s image.
