Handicapped and prisoners began today the Election day

This Friday, more than 6,000 voters, including prisoners and members of the Voting program at home, started in advance the voting process to elect sectional officials in Ecuador.

The electoral process began at 07:00 this friday with people who have a 75% of  disability or are over 65 years. This group is part of the Home Voting  program, which  was implemented by the National Electoral Council (CNE) for these elections.

The CNE reported on its Twitter account that international observers of UNASUR have arrived to different provinces to supervise a smoothly running process.

According Nubia Villacis, CNE counselor, in Guayaquil the suffrage is being developed in 5 detention centers and 2,538 prison inmates will exercise the right to vote.
