Since President Rafael Correa announced the bill on inheritance tax and capital gains, social networks were filled with thousands of tweets and comments, which according to analysts, in part are the trigger for this social wave in the country.

One of the most talked about is #CallateCorreaNadieTeCree (#ShutUpCorreaNobodyBelievesYou in Spanish). And so it was during the 24 hours that preceded the first manifestations.

The opposition hashtag took shape rapidly to reach #FueraCorreaFuera (#OutCorreaOut) that has become the banner of protesters in 13 cities, over the past eight days.

#SigueCorreaSigue (#GoCorreaGo) outscored the opposition hashtag but it was not enough to curb the other that followed, as #MiTrabajoEsParaMisHijos (#MyWorkIsForMyChildren), phrase expressed by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil, Pablo Arosemena.

It was through social networks that civic and political organizations found a way to denounce and promote. With #SOSgalapagos, islanders reported the magnitude of their protest, and with # MasDe1000Razones (#MoreThan1000Reasons) ministries and government supporters listed the bounties of the regime.
