Hearing by land claimed by Fernando Alvarado, without agreement

Posted On 26 Feb 2016

FERNANDO_ALVARADO_ECUADORTIMES.NETNo agreement was reached yesterday at the settlement hearing in which Tourism Minister Fernando Alvarado, and the manager of the Repartecsa company Victor Hugo Paredes, were summoned. Both consider themselves owners of a property in Urbanor, in northern Guayaquil.

The minister did not attend the appointment presided by Judge Paola Jarrin. His son Jose Francisco Alvarado, came on his behalf. The official claims ownership of a plot in the Urbanor citadel, of 600 square meters, where small buildings are located, and he demands the compliance of the judgment of  July 2013, which provides for the return of the property.

“For 20 years I have legally, peacefully and uninterruptedly owned an area located in the block No. 190 of the Urbanor citadel,” states Alvarado in his complaint, adding: “After buying this land i started working on it, I built three stores… by my own, without any partner without anyone’s help.”

The Repartecsa company, of Victor Hugo Paredes, is currently located in this area. “In 2009, when we bought the property, we paid its price to the Urdesa company, which was the previous owner,” says Paredes, and shows the facilities of his business, claiming he has invested on it for 14 years. (I)
