New labor reform states that employees will receive a 6 hours salary while the IESS will receive a contribution equivalent to a full working day
The package of labor reforms, delivered yesterday by the Executive branch to the Council on Legislative Administration (CAL), seeks that workers and employers reach an agreement to avoid the closure of companies, said Wednesday Labor Minister Leonardo Berrezueta.
The working day is the equivalent of eight hours and the reform would decrease it up to six hours for a period of six months, but this may be renewed for another six months, no more, said Barrezueta to the newscast of GamaTV.
As for contributions to Social Security, the IESS will continue to receive full-time values. Although the payment of the workday is done for six hours worked, contributions to the the IESS will be the 100% of wages earned, as if workers had complied with their eight hours a day, he explained.
