Heat Wave in Buenos Aires
Argentina Weather Service declared a red alert for Buenos Aires on Monday because the high temperatures that the city is suffering. People’s health is at risk because of the extreme weather. However, today is expected reduced temperatures, so alert have lowered to orange.
This alert was created to prevent an increasing level in the mortality rate – which is of 80 to 90 people per day- happened in 2001 where 250 people did in one day, some of it caused by the heat that the city suffered.
The System of Emergency Care said that they have not received calls for heat strokes, but they have had cases of faints.
Every year with the arrival of summer time, Buenos Aires residents suffer power cuts and water shortages, this situation enraged the city dwellers.
