IACHR received report on Cléver Jímenez’s case and Sarayaku community
The President, Vice President and Secretary of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights received Ledy Zúñiga, Minister of Justice, and Attorney Diego Garcia in order to report on the situation of Cléver Jiménez, Fernando Villavicencio and Carlos Figueroa.
“The leadership has prioritized Sarayaku political interests over those of their own people.” “The progressive fulfillment of the judgment against the Ecuadorian State has been interrupted by this incident caused by the leadership of the Sarayaku community” said Zuniga.
This was reported yesterday by this entity through a press release, regarding Ecuador’s request for meeting at the headquarters of the Inter-American Court in Costa Rica.
The report also notes: “As part of the report, the Secretary explained that the State has complied with the provisions of the judgment of the Inter-American Court.”
