IESS changes the resolution of compulsory affiliation to voluntary

The Board of Directors of IESS repealed the resolution 464 that created the figure of compulsory affiliation for people without dependent relationship, and volunteer for Ecuadorians abroad, which generated criticism from professionals, workers unions and the Assembly.
On its replacement was issued, last Thursday, the 467 resolution that clarifies in its article 1 that is may affiliate with, on a voluntary basis, from the day that made the request, persons who have income without dependency ratio or independent, domiciled in Ecuador, presenting his notice of entry through the official website of the IESS.
The contribution (20.50%, plus 0.10% in favour of persons with disabilities) will be calculated in relation to a “value monthly to affiliate without dependent or independent set on his monthly salary which, in any case, be less than the unified basic salary”, said the standard.
